1.

Congratulations on winning the silver medal at the Paris Olympics. Your performance was absolutely spectacular and watching the race you looked like you were really enjoying the race. How did it feel crossing the finish line and winning a medal in Paris?

It feels really good. It’s still sinking in. I have moments where I think, "Oh wow, this really happened." Then I remember the race and everything that came with it. I’m still very happy! I was really well-prepared for the race. I knew I was fit, and I knew I was ready for the course. I just tried to soak in the atmosphere. A few years ago, Kipchoge mentioned that during races, he tries to smile, which gives him extra energy. I try to do something similar. Why be miserable? We work so hard for that day, and then race day is the moment we get to enjoy everything we’ve put into it!

2.

From missing out on the Tokyo Olympics to having qualified for your first Olympic appearance and winning a silver medal in the Paris Olympics, how has this experience changed your mindset? Any memorable events or happenings that changed the way of life as a professional athlete significantly.

I think the belief in myself to trust what I do and that what I'm doing is right and to follow my path and give my everything. That's the most important lesson I learned. I'm feeling good. I had a few weeks since the Olympic Games and could do a lot of cool things, which were really exciting. Of course, it also takes some energy, but it gives me so much as well, like the experiences of meeting other athletes or being invited to events. That's really cool. I earned that with my performance. But I'm also really happy to be back in training now and just focus on what I know, what I'm comfortable with, the training and the preparation and doing my sport.

3.

An interesting part of Triathlon is the flexibility in the type of suits you wear during the race compared to other high endurance individual sports. Nicola Spirig preferred a swim suit type suit, and seeing her amazing performance and legendary achievements, many young Swiss Athletes preferred to wear Swim suit type suits. Looking into the major triathlon races you have been wearing suits with legs rather than Swim suits. What kind of difference do you feel between the 2 suits?

My preference is to wear long, but that's also something individual. Some people like it better to have it short, maybe because they get too hot with the legs, or the legs don't feel comfortable for them. It's really individual, whatever suits better for you. In terms of performance, I don't think it changes a lot. I can't say that I would feel a big difference.

4.

Through some sessions between Descente and the Swiss Triathlon Athletes, you were one of the athletes who had clear thoughts on the trisuits and during the race you also whore a suit with some size adjustments. What kind of role does the tri suits have in your equipment setup, both physically and mentally?

Of course, the tri-suit is really important. it's the one equipment we carry from the start to the finish, so it needs to be good for the swim, but comfortable on the bike, and then also not too hot on the run. So, I think with the Descente suit, we have something that's working really well. And then, of course, it needs to be comfortable for the person themselves. So, to have a tri-suit that works for you, that's extremely important.

Descente is very proud to be the supporting the Swiss Triathlon national team athletes through racing suits and clothing. Based on the idea “ Design that Moves” we aim to create clothes that help the athletes challenge to the limit and also help feel some kind of positive emotion with the clothing. Could you please share with us the some features of the Descente attire that you enjoy wearing?

I think it's important to have something that is comfortable for moving. So the design of the clothing obviously is really important. To help the movement during races and training. So, I think that's a very nice way to think of it.

6.

From 2013, Descente has been supporting the Swiss Triathlon team, trying to create and supply the best performance kits through interacting with the athletes. Can you share some interesting experiences you had through the Swiss team and Descente’s partnership?

I think they have improved the tri-suit a lot since the beginning. Now we have really a top of notch tri-suit that feels like a second skin. At the beginning, I remember some of the designs we weren't so sure about. But they improved a lot. And I'm really happy with the partnership that Descente has with Swiss Triathlon. They keep supporting us, and we’ve been growing up together!

7.

Given your success at the Olympics, and also Ironman 70.3 distances in June how do you plan to balance your focus moving forward? Could you share your next goals that you may have in mind?

I still have this season to finish. I still have a few races this year. And then I also look forward to having a little bit of a rest. It was an intense year. And I'm still super motivated to staying in triathlon. There are so many races, but I haven't decided yet which will be my focus. But I'm definitely going to stay in triathlon, represent Switzerland, and do my best at the races.

8.

Congratulations once again on winning the silver medal and thank you very much for taking your valuable time to answer the questions. Can you share a message for your fans and all those who will see this interview?

Just a really big thank you. I mean, even though I'm on the racecourse by myself and I finished the race by myself, the whole preparation was not done alone. You need good people around you. You need supporters. And for that, I'm really thankful that I had those people.
